West Coast Land Surveyors Association

Membership is defined as a company or firm that provides Surveying and Mapping services, products or equipment. Each member firm has one vote by an authorized officer, manager or employee of the firm. In its heyday, the organization was very active in legal and professional matters, taking positions, defending them and being a voice for our profession. This voice has been in addition, and sometimes in opposition, to the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society (FSMS).

We are not affiliated with the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society. Therefore we may have discussions on topics that are not allowed in the FSMS structure. Many of us do, however, maintain memberships in both organizations. 

OUR FOCUS

As a group, we enjoy meeting together to have dinner and conversation in topics such as our businesses, new technology, social and community issues, education and learning opportunities just to name a few.

We are professionally minded in wanting to take care of our own. We take an interest in each other and make efforts to help one another through business contacts or helping each other through hard times such as health issues through support of the Tom Kaney Medical Benevolent Fund. The Board of Directors for the TKF are appointed members of the WCLSA with all monies and distribution handled by same.

We take an interest in perpetuating our profession by supporting the Tampa Bay Surveying and Mapping Scholarship Fund providing two members of the Board of Directors every two years. We both participate in and provide financial support for the annual Golf Tournament fund raiser event.
